Guarneri House is honored to feature a
Joseph Panormo Double Bass.

A Double Bass of central Italian origin, c.1790, enlarged by Joseph Panormo of London England, 1823, with Panormo's autograph inscription to this effect on the interior back. The 2 piece round back is of maple with tight horizontal flames. The ribs highly flamed and the head, entirely by Panormo, plain. The table is made of 5 pieces of fine grain and the varnish a dark orange-red color. The head is mounted with brass gears on plates and a C extension. Back length is 1145mm; upper bouts 525 mm; middle bouts 357 mm; lower bouts668 mm; string length 1037mm.
